Preveza is an enchanting city of the Ionian Sea, at the entrance to the Amvrakikos Gulf, which was mentioned for the first time in the late 13th century.

The history of the city of Preveza is composed of its long history, the various conquerors that have left their markings and their influences visible, the narrow streets of the old city - among which the famous Seitan Pazar - the old houses and mansions of the 19th century. And its island color.

Remarkable monuments of the city are the Venetian fortress of Agios Andreas (18th century), the castles of Agios Georgios, Pantokratoras and the bastion of Vrysoula, built in 1807 by Ali pasas of Ioannina. Also interesting are the churches of the city, such as Agios Nikolaos, Agios Athanasios, Panagias, Saint Spyridon in Vrysoula, as well as the metropolitan church of Agios Charalambos, rebuilt in 1793, with excellent Iconographic icons (1793, 1804) and a multicoloured wood-carved gilded iconostasis (1827). Attached to the temple is the Venetian Clock Tower, built in 1752.

Olive groves lagoons, and beaches surrounds the peninsula of Preveza

At the paved harbour overlooking the Amvrakikos Gulf and the narrow alleys with its traditional taverns and ouzeries, the hospitable people of the city rejoice at every moment. Here you can try all local specialties and fresh fish.
